Innovo Renewables acquires Italian-German consultancy company PH Consulting Engineering and enters the German market
Innovo Renewables has acquired 100% of the shares of PH Consulting Engineering, an engineering firm with offices in Rome and Munich. The company specializes in energy consulting for the development of photovoltaic and energy storage (BESS) projects. Following the acquisition, the company will operate under the name Innovo PH Engineering Services.
This acquisition represents a strategic step in the evolution of Innovo Renewables. It marks the company’s direct entry into the German market, the opening of two new offices, and an expansion into high-potential segments of the renewable energy value chain, particularly technical and engineering consultancy services.
Founded less than three years ago, PH Consulting Engineering quickly established itself in the industry, recording €2 million in revenue in 2024—more than double the previous year (+156% compared to 2023). Already a technical consultant for Innovo Renewables’ projects, the company will retain its structure, operational identity, and autonomy, continuing to provide engineering services to third-party clients and its established network.
PH Consulting Engineering’s founders, Massimiliano Pili and Simon Hartmann, will continue to manage the company’s operations. Massimiliano Pili will join the Board of Directors, while Rodolfo Bigolin will serve as Chairman and CEO.
Rodolfo Bigolin, CEO of Innovo Renewables, commented: “The acquisition of PH Consulting Engineering represents a significant acceleration for us toward vertical integration and the consolidation of key expertise in the sector. It is also a crucial step for our international expansion, adding the German market to the Italian, British, and Spanish markets where we are already active. The trust we have built over the years with the PH team, combined with a shared vision for the future of the sector, makes this move both strategic and natural. We are excited to collaborate in building the future of sustainable energy in Europe.”
The transaction was managed entirely by Innovo Renewables’ in-house team, including: Massimo Rancilio, Group CFO, for tax matters, Stefania Serena Monghini, Group General Counsel, for legal matters, Claudio Petrolini, Group Managing Director M&A, for M&A aspects, Giulia Rossi, Group HR Director, for labor law aspects.
PwC and PwC TLS supported Innovo with legal, labor, tax, and accounting matters. The acquisition agreement was formalized by the notary Fabio Gaspare Panté.
PH Consulting Engineering was assisted by the law firm Pavia e Ansaldo.
